One out of a billion people just come out with an idea that ends up changing the way this world works. Pranav Mistry is one such person. Pranav always wanted to let the physical world interact with the digital world and started experimenting with a computer mouse and ended up making a sensory device that felt human gestures.
At TEDIndia, Pranav demonstrated several tools that help the physical world interact with the world of data -- including a deep look at his SixthSense device and a new, paradigm-shifting paper "laptop".
Here is his video where he talks about his work, ideas and promises to offer open source software for all of his work:
I can see how his work will promise a much simpler world a few years down the line. Great job Pranav ... Really impressive.
Sometimes, the toughest part of technology is bringing it back to human level. What this guy is doing is phenomenal! It makes me wonder - not so much how this guy became such a genius, but why everyone else didn't think of this as well.
I suppose those talking, moving newspapers in Harry Potter movies are not so out of reach after all... ;-)

Great that it will be open source software. This is the future!
Reminiscent of Harry Potter newspapers...
